RPM Health Group International, LLC

In 1994 Dr. Massaro launched RPM Health Group - a domestic consulting firm that provided healthcare systems design and improvement plus compliance assessment and improvement to hospitals across the United States. The business was very successful and was interrupted in 1998 when he accepted the position of Executive Vice President of Accreditation and Certification Operations at The Joint Commission (TJC). Upon his retirement from TJC in 2007, he reopened RPM but now as RPM Health Group International, LLC with a much expanded scope of services and clientele.

Our mission is to make a difference by helping others achieve their goals. We are a for-profit company, but profit is not our primary driver. We work by assembling the appropriate team of experts for each contract, as required by the engagement.

Russell P Massaro, MD, FACPE

For twenty-seven years, Russ Massaro has provided leadership, management, policy development, teaching and consulting services to healthcare organizations and governments all over the United States, the US Virgin Islands, The Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, and in Europe. His biography includes a mix of clinical, academic, government, executive and management experiences rarely seen in a single individual - including nine years as the Executive Vice President of Accreditation and Certification Operations at The Joint Commission. Although he is a Gastroenterologist (Mayo Clinic), Dr. Massaro served seven years as the Deputy Commissioner of Health and Managed care for the New York State Office of Mental Health. He is in demand as a speaker at national meetings, and he founded RPM Health Group International in order to make a difference in healthcare.

Laura Walters, BS - Chief Operating Officer

Laura obtained her business degree at Northern Illinois University. She spent significant time and achieved management status in the insurance and investment brokerage industries, and then developed her own successful business in commercial and residential cleaning services. She joined RPM HGI in 2007 and has outstanding expertise and skill in project management, team / group facilitation, leadership and management training, and, she is responsible for operations at RPM HGI.
